ELIZABETH (BETTY) YULIANETTI SWEENEY Born April 9, 1941 passed away peacefully on January 15, 2022. She was surrounded by family, Edward J. Sweeney, husband, Ron Sweeney and Joyce (Sweeney) Homewood (husband John). She is survived by her beloved sister, Maryann (Yulianetti) McDonough, and cherished grandsons Eric Homewood and Matthew Homewood. Preceded in death by a brother, Michael Yulianetti, her father, and her beloved mother Ethel Miller Yulianetti. Elizabeth was born in Philadelphia. She met and married Edward Sweeney, moved to Toby Farms, Minnesota, and Warminster until settling in Southampton, PA. Betty worked at Curtis Publishing in Philadelphia, Burpee in Warminster, Union Fidelity, and the Naval Air Development Center. She moved to Patuxent River, MD when the base closed. From there, she retired in Milford, DE. Betty was known for her enjoyment of music, dancing, movies, and most of all, her love of all games, especially bingo and casino games. She was the life of the party, and had a great sense of humor. She was also passionate about social justice, the environment and a love of animals. She cared about the poor, needy, oppressed and would donate to many great causes. She was unpretentious, kind, extremely funny and was beloved by many. Her advice was often requested as she was smart, a great listener, without judgement or prejudice, and with a sincere desire to help anyone in need. Above all she was compassionate, loving, dedicated to her children and grandchildren and extended family, nieces and nephews. She will be forever missed.
